Nitrogen Boosters and Nitrogen Compressors

A Hycomp nitrogen booster or nitrogen compressor is the natural choice when you need to elevate the pressure of your nitrogen source. Our Nitrogen Boosters & Compressors are oil-free keeping your gas stream clean and dry. Our nitrogen compressors are capable of delivering a wide range of flows at pressures from a few psig to over 3,000 psig. As the combinations of inlet pressure, discharge pressure and flow requirements are nearly limitless, we encourage you to contact us for assistance in sizing the proper nitrogen booster for your application. Hycomp engineers consider purity of gas, energy costs, and duty cycle when providing the right nitrogen compressor for your application.

Nitrogen Boosters and Nitrogen Compressors are basically identical in design. The term nitrogen booster is commonly used to describe a compressor that takes an existing nitrogen gas pressure from above atmospheric to a higher pressure. The term nitrogen compressor is commonly used to describe a compressor that takes nitrogen from atmospheric pressure, or lower, to a higher pressure. The major difference is the gas packing style used to prevent air leaking into the nitrogen stream in a nitrogen compressor, or nitrogen leaking out to atmosphere in a nitrogen booster. Hycomp engineers closely examine your exact application so you can be certain your nitrogen booster or compressor will be properly designed for your use.

Examples of how and where Hycomp nitrogen boosters and nitrogen compressors are used:
Industry Nitrogen Use
Steel Mills Blanketing gas to prevent oxidation and prevent explosive conditions
Carbon Fiber Curing Autoclaves, ovens and curing facilities
Bio-Fuels/Ethanol Eliminate moisture while pressurizing, blanketing, and inerting tanks
Heat Treating Displace oxygen preventing oxidation
Laser Cutting Boost pressure from nitrogen generators to the pressure laser cutters require
Coil/Valve/Tube Manufacturing Pressure test coils, valves, tubes to ensure leak tight operation
Off Shore Platforms Costs are reduced by installing on site nitrogen generators and boosting the produced nitrogen into a storage vessel. Used as blanketing gas and a variety of applications onboard.
Chemical Plants Blanketing gas to prevent chemical contamination and prevent explosive conditions
Injection Molding Gas assist injection molding
Petrochemical Blanketing during production
Oil Field Gas re-injection to elevate well production
And other applications where elevated nitrogen pressures are needed.

We tried one Hycomp compressor running our TRUMPF laser cutting machines. We now have 4 Hycomp gas compressors.
